I grew up in a household where alcohol was permissive. I knew how to make drink recipes as a child, and poured them for myself as I got older.I spent a large part of my teenage years and twenties looking for real love at the bottom of a bottle or whatever my “friends” were using at the time. Got pregnant then married at 20 to a narcissist, had a beautiful daughter and was divorced by 21. Met my husband of over 17 years in 2003 and began to make changes. I saw that alcohol was a crutch and I was drinking heavily daily to cope with my past. In 2005, after a drunken night and some bad choices I had a realization that my continued alcohol consumption was going to ruin my marriage.I had enough and with the support of my husband, I quit!!!!It wasn’t easy, I didn’t do any formal classes, I didn’t go to AA or group sessions because I just didn’t really know what support was out there.I have been sober for almost 16 years and faced a lot of adversity during that time. Robbed at gun point, witnessed two of my children go through significant health issues… I don’t think I slept for about 5 years when times were rough.Today I own my own event planning business, have 3 wonderful children, and now am a certified recovery coach with HardBeauty!!!I love my family, beaches, tattoos, and helping people, It is so amazing watching people reach their highest self.
