Danielle Finklea
Trauma & Recovery Coach

Hello, I’m Dani! I hail from Washington DC and will always be an eternal East Coast girl at heart. I love the ocean, history, culture, art, music, festivals, and outdoor markets. I thoroughly embrace my “Black Girl Nerd” status as a die-hard sci-fi and horror fan. My husband and three daughters are my muses; they inspire me in all areas of my life. Without our four furry family members, our family would not be complete: two black cats Buffy and Willow, our German Shepard Thor, and my little Shi Tzu mix Nola (named after New Orleans, LA).

I have worked in the human services and behavioral health fields for six years. I received a Bachelor of Art in psychology with a concentration in child advocacy from Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida. I began working with children on the autism spectrum utilizing applied behavior analysis. I have worked with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking for the last four years. I was the safe house program manager for a non-profit and oversaw the operations of a 24-hour crisis line. I am nearing the completion of my Master of Arts in counseling from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

I am so excited to be joining Hard Beauty as a life and trauma coach. My journey to wellness began over a decade ago. I made up my mind to break the cycle of trauma, dysfunction, abuse, brokenness, and self-hatred. My daughters were the fire I needed to create a legacy they could be proud of. If I could rewrite my story and rise beyond the lies fed to me as a poor Black girl growing up in Southeast DC, so can you! Joining Hard Beauty gives me a platform to support others on their journey toward a life of love, safety, and authenticity. No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here to walk with you.
